HUS 365 arrived today (big orange)

50:1 is enough oil for piston and cylinder. Not enough for bearings if you want long life.

    Fogging oil

Fogging oil is sprayed in the carb while running. It protects all internals. It will also safely let a engine start with no fuel.

    372xp x-torq vs MS461

Wieght about the same. The original is lighter, the x torq is heavier. Both good saws. The 461 was replaced by the 462 a few years back.

    Stihl 044 squish

I would leave the gaskey or make a slightly thinner one. You will lower the exhaust and transfers, lowering the power band rpm slightly. What 044, 10 or 12mm?

    Stihl 034 rebuild question

You are right about that on a 034. On closer look from what I can remember, the older open port cylinders I have seen, had alittlte different looking windowed piston than the closed port types. I am thinking the pic posted above may be from the open port cylinder. There are a few non bottom...

    Stihl 044 10mm Meteor Piston

I have a meteor in one also, only have about 6 tanks on it, 10mm lower with a 12mm jug. Mostly stock with base gasket, but the 10mm muffler. Plently of zip, nice and light.

    Stihl 044 10mm Meteor Piston

Metal spacers on high rpm saws no good. They saw into the wrist pin.

    Stihl Ms381 oiling issue.

With the pump off, have you verified the internal passage from pump mount on crank case is open to bar pad outlet and suction side is open to tank hose?

    044 problems

Don't **** around if your fixing it. Replace the seals and rubber now. Plus you can flush out the crankcase good and feel the bearings while seals are out.

Echo 7310 is really cold blooded

What is this issue you speak of? On Your video it seemed pretty good.

This is for all of you thinking of either doing or hiring someone to replace main bearings in your saw..

We know that the 372xt heavy piston is a factor. They should have put a steel insert in the case pocket to stop the pocket from ponding out. I think the swedes cheaped out on the nylon type and cage design also.

What’s wrong with me guide bar

I had problems with the grove packed with chips as others have. I think they went back to solid drivers again. Not many problems in same wood with solid drivers.
