    Husky 350 Rebuild Question

First post and couldn't even get a helping hand or a Welcome..... On top of the cylinder should be a stamped mark, probably a 45. Both won't work, measure it to be sure. It's scored because of something other than the muffler. Could be lean, old fuel, or the air leaking in from the intake boot...

    Stihl MS261C-M - Sugihara bar?

By an ounce maybe, more like hundredths of ounces. .050 and .063 is the same chain, just .050 has a thinned driver, the upper portion of the chain is the same. You can argue about strength and for ease of pulling the chain, it's the same chain. Sharpness has more to do with it than .050 or .063.

Selling a saw to a beginner

Last place I want a saw is near my crotch! Anybody put an 090 between their legs? Not sure I want to see that either! Chain brakes... they were designed to stop the chain during a kick-back, not starting, not walking around when clearing the brush. Done correctly, drop start is easy and in some...

Testing A Raisman Platt Crankshaft In An MS660

Yes. But have been busier than normal. My helper was fired, doing whatever he had plus mine.... makes for long days and more travel. Hopefully, a couple new guys here in the next weeks or so, still need to train them.

Been riding Navy ships lately and not forgot you guys... Weedeatman Randy

Sure. I retired in 2007 having been a submarine sailor and specialized in electronic navigation. In 1995 I helped develop the first computer programs the navy used to position the ship. It used an electronic chart (map) of the ocean, GPS for the latitude and longitude of the ship and then...

Been riding Navy ships lately and not forgot you guys... Weedeatman Randy

Haven't forgot you guys... but haven't been around lately to speak of. For those that don't know, I work a pretty specialized job riding ships for the US Navy and teach electronic navigation for a real job. When the fleet needs help, I go and lately I've been gone and haven't had any time to do...

    Homelite 750 project.

Missing a muffler as well... ouch! $1000 for a muffler, piston and cylinder was turned down not long ago... not enough $$ to sell them. I know somebody interested in either of them......... with the parts to fix them. Half wrap on the 750, that would make it the east coast version, 750E and...

Weedeaterman Big wood, big prizes... pick the winners!

I had to sit through a lecture from my 16 year old daughter on why I should allow every picture as an entry. I stated the rules for entry and after a fairly heated debate with both my wife and daughter dog piling me... those pictures are just to cute to not consider and it's really about just...

Weedeaterman Big wood, big prizes... pick the winners!

The idea was to get some members talking about wood, see some cool pictures of getting wood with a buddy, your family, kids, the dog... whatever. Kind of hard to take a picture of yourself in the picture so it really doesn't matter....THIS isn't that hard, just pick a picture. If you like it...

Help determining correctness of Homelite 1050 Automatic

I've got them trained... I bring saws to cut big wood, we all cut the wood and smile. I go home and they split the wood, then bring it to the house or work and I help unload. Having a big saw is advantageous, you've just got to know how to apply it. I agree with Aaron, no need to change the...

    Need Help IDing Old Mccullochs

I'd say so... if the urge arises to let a big bar go... I've got a couple old timber saws that would be appreciative of a nice bar. Very nice find you have there, fun to run! Like yours, one of mine is an 895 gear drive powered by an MC100 motor.

Help determining correctness of Homelite 1050 Automatic

Mine cut wood whenever I can get a big enough piece. The trick is to bring several and when they run out of fuel, switch to another saw. I like to bring a truck full of old saws... music to the ears!

Weedeaterman Big wood, big prizes... pick the winners!

Well.... lots of great pictures and I've finally got a little time to work on this. My real job has had me wrapped up pretty solid.... but without further adieu... My girls picked the best 10 pictures, they have never seen them before and picked some nice ones. I originally said big wood, with...
