I got this 80 in last week. It has very nice compression as you will see.
Somebody did a muffler mod with removable spark screen.
The saw starts with a shot of mix down the carb but the carb
will need cleaning and a kit.

Yes I traded JANDG who made this post abot the 81
http://www.arboristsite.com/showthread.php?t=102108&highlight=jonsereds+81

I traded him a nice 044 stihl with 24 inch bar and new chain.
He said he wanted a lighter saw that was not so hard to start.
I thought it can't be that hard to pull. Wow when I got the saw
he was right as you will see in the pics.
Hes happy with the 044 and im very happy with the 81.
I have not started it yet. It needs a new kill switch. I ordered one
should be here this week.

You got a couple nice ones there Cliff.
Good luck starting them with that finger
braking compression. Do you think they
have been modded? Never seen a stock
saw with that much comp. WOW

I am glad the 81 went to a collector, and was posted here in the trading post as compared to ebay. Good job JANDG!

I am very curious to see if there is any internal difference compared to the 80/801.

nice pair of aces right there !!! I really like the bar on that 80.
These saws have indeed awfull compression and starting is a trick on its own.

I love the way they idle...tak tak..tak.. that's idling the russian way I suppose LOLOL...:laugh:

That's a great deal for both of you,I too am glad to see the 81 is now "safe and sound".Good deal JandG for posting it here instead of on the 'bay.

Fine looking saws with arm breaking comp as well. Great roll tip on the 80.
The Stihl elastostart help any on the 81 ?
Yes it does help.

The 80 may have been modded. I don't know abot the 81

Well they both got there carb kits installed today. I did not have
time to do any sawing with them. The mix in the 80 is a little
thick so it smokes a bit.
