Hey Ted - I think you mentioned clear coat in this thread, please let me know what you use as I have a project or two that could benefit if you have an easy solution.

Thanks,

Mark

Good morning, Mark ... I use Plasti-Kote Clear Engine Enamel ... found it at a local CarQuest auto parts store.

I add it for increased fuel resistance and a tougher finish.

This cloudy weather really has me down ... no sun means no hot truck dashboard to bake the painted parts on.

But we continue to progress. Used a few spare minutes today to get the old flywheel side bearing removed. The puller kit from HFT worked like a champ. :msp_thumbup:

With any luck and with without distractions, we'll likely have the engine together tonight. :eek:uttahere2:

As I thought, got the engine bolted up tonight. Now if I could just get the weather to agree that we need warmer temps for painting. :angry2:

I phoned Mrs. Heimann on my way to work this morning to ask her to hand a couple of parts in the red truck today, forgot to do that before I left this morning.

It should be sunny and warm in Eastern Iowa all day today...

Mark

Thanks Mark!

Going to be 81ish and mostly sunny here today. The wife is going out for awhile, so I can get some quick painting done and put the parts on the dashboard of the truck ...

Going to be a good day today!

I've been really busy the last few days, didn't want to leave this totally hanging.

The (color) painting is done and everything's had a shot of the clear coat (at 0530 Saturday!).

Spending time putting together 'sub-assemblies' as I call them .... engine, top tank, clutch cover and carb (kit). Trying (unsuccessfully) to not nick the fresh paint.

Tomorrow, hopefully things begin to come together ...

Awesome Ted. That's a prime example of all the options that came on that saw. Good job.

Thanks Joe .. I'm trying.

I would like it even better if it was on the shelf at my place...

Mark

Thanks Mark, but your shop is overrun with saws I am jealous of.

Really nice saw Ted!!!

Andy

Thanks Andy!

I can smell the jealousness from down here in AL.

I'm pretty jealous too

You have a few 'targets' of my jealousy as well .... :msp_thumbup:

Yah, I love it.

Took this one and riveted the end a bit better than how I got it. Have been on the lookout for firehose at flea markets and estate sales since!

I'll tell my father-in-law to save the old hoses. He's the fire chief here.
