Wow no way bro you're the first one to know about this on the whole entire site I'll bet your thread will hit well over 1000 pages with all of the posts it will get from everyone hearing about this for the first time good job on letting us all know because none of us had any idea.

Why would they go and bring back old models when they have all these new and improved xx1's?

Yeah, I got my 440!:msp_biggrin:

and just how did you get this news? It would surprise me if the bean counters themselves know how long this run will last. I am guessing it is a matrix that will consider how long they have parts, how many EPA credits they have, how well recieved the return is, how it is cannabilzing sales from other models and how much money they are making or losing on those models, etc............to say a model run will last 18 months just doesn't pass the smell test with how business is done. If Stihl is making good enough money, and they have the environmental end under control, then they will keep pedaling 440's until the cows come home.

I heard about this from northern ca rep. Then I called Donna in production to see how long they would be available.

I made the post so AS members could get a some 440's and have plenty time.

Don't mind me. I'm usually pretty obnoxious and sarcastic. Don't take it too seriously - I'm a big ball buster and a big ********** as well..... :tongue2:

as if one was warranted. a few of you came out swingin and end up lookin like fools. imo.

I saw what was in the OP, but I bet you a dollar to a doughnut that no one at this point knows how long they will be making this saw. If they sell well, and Stihl can get parts and has enough EPA credits, do you seriously think they will stop making them at an arbitrary 18 months??? If you do, you have a very differenty understanding of capitalism than do I.

sure enough, I can't say with certainty there will even be a tomorrow. It just bugged me that the OP was getting dogged, for no good reason.
