I won the eBay auction on this Poulan 5200 last week. It arrived today. Minimal paint loss on this find. Compression tested out at an amazing 175 PSI. We'll see how that is again after it's run. I also receive two NOS 8500 filters. They work beautifully. All that's required is to shorten the stud on the carb about 3 threads, and shorten the "nuts" built into the filter. Nothing else is required. The bar does have a slight jog in the bottom rail. I think it will work out fine though.

I think all this one wil get is cleaned up and maybe new decals. It definately needs new fuel lines and the carb gone through. I'll pull the jug and decarbon everything. I don't have plans to port it, but that could easily change. I will not be painting the saw though.

This is what I was trying to explain to you about making the 8500 AF work in my answer on the Poulan thread. Remains to be seen if the top cover fits down over it since that AF is thicker than the one for the 5200.
