Stihl 024 AV Piston needed: Input Welcome

Does anyone know where to get a meteor piston for a Stihl 024 AV (42mm)??
Northwoods carries a VEC and Bailey's a NWP brand.
I am not familiar with either brand.

OR... I am open for suggestions

Thank you,

I haven't seen Meteor produce a piston yet for the 024. I think they stick
to models that they know will sell well and the 024 is the red-headed step
child compared to the 026/MS-260. NWP from Bailey's should do you very
well. The 024 isn't a saw that puts a lot of stress on the reciprocating parts
anyway.

Yeah , I agree with you. I bought the saw for a little limb saw and found out the piston is scored. The cylinder wasn't bad and cleaned up great. A trip to my Stihl dealer was bad news. No OEM piston in stock or in the supply chain. 2 to 3 weeks from somewhere??? Oh yeah , and about $90 before tax.
Just tried to order a NWP from Baileys but is out of stock there too. So I'll check on the VEC piston.
I really like the saw and want to keep it.

Ended up using the VEC piston setup from Northwoods. After close inspection it seemed like a pretty decent piece (I did clean up some casting flash a bit). Popped in some new crank seals along with a new impulse and fuel hoses and filters
.
Set the mixture a bit rich , ran a tank of regular (dino) stihl mix thru it then changed to stihl ultra mix and retuned.

Happy to say runs and cuts great and has plenty of power , getting stronger the more I use it.

Still cant keep the idle mixture to stay set...Carb was into twice (overhauled) thought crank seals , hoses and rebuild would at least have some effect on that but no go.
