Good friends of mine, Kyle is as Honest as the day is long, most people are basically honest, but Kyle is a step above that. He and his dad certainly didn't deserve this...

"Stolen Chainsaws Please Help" ($1,000 Cash Reward )
We are a tree service and had our bucket truck broken into. They broke the padlock and stole 5 EXPENSIVE chainsaws. I'm looking for your help. Word of mouth travels fast and if you come across someone selling chainsaws please help us. We will give you a cash reward for the return of them $1000. This took place in Vernon CT. The truck was parked at a customers house. These are the items stolen.

1 - Stihl ms 660 with 3ft bar
1 - Stihl ms660 with 20 in bar
1- Stihl 044 with 20 in bar
1- stihl 200t climbing saw
1- jonsered 2121 with 20 in bar

My son was 12 years old when he started buying these, these are valuable over $5000 worth. Please help us if you can. Call Kyle 860-634-2724 or John 860-420-8847

Keep an eye out if you are anywhere near Connecticut or Mass, I know I'm going to.:msp_sad:

I'm going to call Kyle and see if I can't get a more detailed description of the saws...

I just got off the phone with Kyle and two of the saws have unique markings on them:
The MS200T has an old syle 020T starter on it and has "Elvis Lives":msp_tongue: inscribed on the filter cover, I know this saw well.
The other saw I'm familiar with is an old school silver tag Stihl 044 with a "Magnum" decal on the top cover and a newer Windsor Speed Tip bar.
I'm always scanning CL or swap meets so I'll be keepin' an eye out for them. :Eye:v:Eye:

Yes the Stafford swap meet is comin' up in a few weeks, I'll be looking for his saws there for sure. I don't know what I could do about it even if I do see them? I know there will be cops there, but I wonder if even they could do anything?:msp_confused:

If the saws have been reported stolen and serial numbers were given then that should be in the report, accessible from any officer's computer.

sorry to hear this, im not close but I always keep an ear open to recover stolen property for others.
my dads work truck was stolen and found at a crackhouse in mo.

I had some saws get stolen a few years back cheked the pawn shops no luck went were another tree service was working and wouldnt you know there were 2 of them i asked one guy were they got them they said someone sold them to him because they had an emergency and needed cash so he got a good deal on them i just said good deal so they wouldnt try to get rid of them went down the street called the cops showed them my paperwork and the guy gave me my saws backs and told the cops who he got them from. never got the other 2 back or heard anything else.

that sucks, stafford is the 14th for the tyrods swap meet, i will be there as well so I'll keep an eye out and if I see anything I'll post up here from my phone

How do you manage to get all 5 saws stolen at once, what else did they take?

Where were the saws when they were stolen?

broke into a bucket truck.

Happens all the time on construction sites. All the sub trades have those big green metal job boxes. show up Monday morning they all walked away...

Serial numbers and a police report.

Sucks to hear about the stolen saws. I will keep an eye out down here in the south east corner. I usually go to the zagaray farms swap in may out in colchester, the pawn shops down here usually don't have saws but I'll be on the look out during my usual rounds.

Keep us updated.

Worth a try?

SkippyKTM if you want to send me a list of serial numbers I would be happy to put an add out on CL or BP looking for "a large saw, prefer MS660 or similar", and see if one or both show up.

As you well know, moving a big saw, is much more difficult than selling a 50 cc on CL as the market is limited so the perp probably isn't going sell them quickly unless they go cheap.

I can also get the list of serial numbers to Beaver Brook Saw Shop in case someone comes in looking to sell or trade. I know the owner and his NE Stihl Rep very well, I'm sure he would get the serial numbers sent out to any local Stihl dealers for them to check.

Wish him the best let me know what if anything I can do.

Take Care

Glad that you asked, that would be a great help! I just got the numbers for the 2 newer MS660's they are both only a few months old. The serial numbers are 173568366 and 171279438. The numbers for the 3 other older saws unfortunately he doesn't have.
