i have to say, this cylinder has one of the nicest combustion/squish areas i have seen in a while. looks like they machined it. you can't see it in the pics, but trust me, they machined it into a nice top. very smooth.
the ports are very even and shaped properly, the beveling makes them look a little skewed but thats easy to fix. the intake/exhaust look to be a little on the small side, but i haven't measured anything yet.
oh yeah, it's a closed port cylinder, not the open port i was expecting, nor as advertised. i'm not complaining:) the piston is not windowed.
the nikasil DOES go all the way to the top. i verified this with my dental mirror and trusty fingernail. the honing goes up until about a 1/16 of an inch from the top.
overall this kit seems to be very good. i haven't run it yet so time will tell. i'll try to get this saw back together on sunday.
i'm outta here for the weekend! see yuh!

heres the com. chamber a little closer:

threw it together last night and ran a half tank through it. seems to pull ok so far. i haven't taken a comp check yet but can tell it is a little on the low side. maybe it will come up some after a few tanks. the squish is a little off from front to back. 37thou on the exh. side and
42-43thou on the intake side. no gasket used. we'll see how things fair after a few tanks of use.:smile2:
