Was cutting out some dead wood in a decent size oak this morning. There was one whole leader that had to be pieced out, and when I got to the last chunk my saw got hung up and went for the ride down. I have read about it many times, for some reason if you don't match your cuts in oak your saw can get hung up. I was only off of my undercut by less than 1/2". Was a large enough chunk that I couldn't do anything but let go and watch my saw and the chunk of wood fall to the ground. Wasn't that high, maybe 20 feet up, but enough to do damage. Took a small chunk out of the case, destroyed the rear AV mount, detached the intake boot, and lost the tank vent. It could have been a lot worse. I have already patched the case and have the AV mount and tank vent on order. Should have it up and running Monday afternoon as long as I don't find anything else broken. And to add insult to injury, after I was finished messing with it this afternoon the lock on my tool box got jammed. Not sure how or what happened, but I am locked out of it. Key broke and its stuck between locked and unlock and wont budge. So tomorrow I am going to have to break into my tool box:bang:.
