Ok, going by my serial number - 1 31 067 595, my saw was built in Germany, has the new crank with better bearing and cage (but not the 1996 upgrade), and was one of the first ones built with the EY-V coil and unlimited flywheel. That's good, right?

It's also a flat-top, with no decompression valve. What's the story on the red-light 066's? Were all 066's of a certain vintage red-lights or was it an option/upgrade?

Thanks!

Scott

Red light was the first year or two 066.

I would love to edit this thread to include the pics and such from the earlier thread, is there a way I can do this?
Also would love to see Jason's stupid inaccurate redlight comment removed so guys don't think it is right, a sticky should be accurate right :)

Posts in this thread have timed out for editing, would be best to start a new thread and insert everything you now have then this one could disappear.

Hello,
Could anyone here explain me why it is so much better to have an UNLIMITED coil?
As far as the chain touched the wood, the engine is below its speed limit.
So: where is the advance of no-limit?
I would e.g. find it useful to be able to alter the rev limit on the TS units a bit if you have a cutting-wheel with a higher allowed rpm. This would be a really interesting project to make a TS with an adjustable ignition rev- limit...
But on chainsaws?
Kind Regards,
Robert
