Hi, does anybody have any idea about setting the H screw on an Echo 6700?

The only online manual I've found says L: 1 1/2 and H: 1 5/8, but I can't get the saw to idle happily with the L: at more than 1 1/4, so I wonder if the H setting in the manual is correct?

I can tach the saw, but I can't find any info on the recommended max RPM either.

Even a ballpark figure would be great!

Any ideas would be superb, thanks!

Can't tell you where to set it for number of turns out from seated, but mine is very sensitive on the "H" speed screw. Very slight movements take it from being too rich to being too lean. I'd sneak up on the best setting er a tad on the rich side with noticable "four stroking" out of the cut.

Those aren't high rpm saws, and some "odd" porting in the P/C. I put a new P/C on mine a few years ago, it's outfitted with a 24" bar, would do better with a 20" bar, not an overly impressive saw anyplace, just OK......Cliff

Howdy:

I have this saw(grey cs-670) yours should be the same, and I have the spec in my owners manual, MAX RPM = 12,500. You might need to pull off the limiter caps temporarily to get the adjustment right, I would reinstall the caps after that so the setting won't vibrate off again. :hmm3grin2orange:

ps: 20 in bar/chain setup no load out of the wood-sorrty if you already knew that.
