I bought this saw new approximately 20 years ago (the exact date escapes me). It was equipped with a 20" bar at the time of purchase. I suspect in the time that I have owned it I have not put 5 hours of use on it.

I cranked it up last fall but would not start over the winter when I had some big wood blow down over one of the roads at the home place. It turns out the carb boot was bad, it was all curled up like it had been melted. I was able to source a NOS one for around $30 and all was well for around 20 minutes and it died again, same problem.

Rather than spend another 30 bucks, the problem was solved with a heater hose. It is back up and running, but seems to be a bit down on power for 88 cc's. I will tinker with the carb to see if I can get it up to snuff.

It should run pretty strong..for any saw. Mine does. When was the last time the rubber parts in the fuel system were changed? Card diaphrams, fuel line, etc? I would start there. If its still not right, pull the muffler and make sure it didn't stick it self when the intake melted and it run lean for a bit.
