Looked at a 128CD trimmer at the blue store, don't see it on the Husky site...is this a retailer model only? Reason I like it is it has the quick-link for other accessories...is this a pure Swedish model or some conglomeration of other manufacturers?

Looking for my BIL so I want to steer him right. Seems the Stihl's are out of the price range but I know they are good, i'm a Husky fan so that's where i'm starting :)

What is the consensus on these things?

the husky trimmers are great.

much better than the Stihl trimmers.i hate that damn 4 mix garbage.

you want the Husky 323 or 326.lightweight and they scream.i have had one for 4 years and had no problems whatsoever.even have the original tap and go head.flawless.the cheaper homeowner versions suck.

Love my husky trimmer! I bought a new one from the local hardware, not a husky and ran it 1 summer next spring through it in the dumpster because it was a complete piece of crap. It never ran right after I had it a month or so!

Went got a new husky, 3rd yr now , no probs, Im thinking of modding the muff!

I could be wrong, but I believe the model #'s starting with "1" are made by AYP in the U.S.. The models starting with "3" are made in Sweden.

I have the 326 LDX with a brush cutter kit and am very happy with it. The only attachment I've gotten so far is the edger and it does well.

ive hade them all, echo being the worst, and husky the best. light weight torque monsters. Speaking of their pro line only though..the 1 and only complaint i have is with their small gas tanks. I will never ever buy anything other then husky trimmers, and im not brand loyal..when its 95 degrees and your cutten lawns for a living u want a trimmer that starts on 1 pull each and every time.

Good to know about the 3-series, been a mixed bag of reviews over the homeowner models....think i'm gonna wait and get myself one...after the saw #2 purchase.

I have a 323R and it is a fantastic piece of equipment. I have had it for about 4 years now and no problems and plenty of power. It gets used for many hours at a time and is every easy to start and the tap/feed head works great and is very easy to load.

i have forgotten the gas in my 323 for two winters now.

both times in the spring it started on the second full.after that,1st pull everytime the rest of the year.

the Stihl trimmers were great when they were real 2 strokes.

Have to stick up for the cheap ones!

My husky trimmer is a 125 , going on three yrs old and I have ubused it , I mean cut stuff the little trimmer should not have and not 1 prob, I love it and any trimmer I buy will be a husky!

Got a Husky 223L

Not a pro machine, but not a throw away machine either. I've had mine for at least 3 years and it hasn't missed a lick. I do a lot of trimming too. Basically whatever isn't done with the zero turn gets done with the 223L most of the time, and I've got a bunch of fences, stone walls and big rocks to trim out.

Another advantage is the stock T35 tap head works great and is very easy to load, Spare spools are readily available from the dealer, TSC or the "Blue Box".

Take Care

All day use the 4 mix Stihls are great. Heavier and without the powerband but the even torque is very useful for varied conditions. Plus the smoothness and hardly any smoke...
I have a Husky 325xr that's being converted to the lx handle(?) at home, can't wait to get it running.

I was looking at the Husky 128 from HD,but eventually went with the Stihl FS 55R. The prices were almost identical at $199.99. I figured I'd go with a dealer, since I can't stand buying anything at those "box stores". Plus, what
kind of service will you be getting at a box store,if you eventually need it for
warrantee purposes?
