I inherited this saw from my father when he passed a few years ago. While not the nicest or best it's very handy for taking limbs off of trees once they are felled.

Anyway after 25 years or so the fuel line holding the clunk broke. Looks like all I have to do is change the piece under the handle that goes into the tank. Is my thinking correct on this?

Replace the whole line, get rid of that coupler nipple, get a new fuel filter, go through the carb.......

Also replace the air filter, the crud is on the bottom, the sponge is likely crumbling....

Keep that nipple..... replace whole line but you want it....if you have to take it apart you have to cut it any ways.....just my opinion.....if u have to get into the flywheel side you will be happy you did.....

I did not listen to you learned it the hard way when i had to replace the recoil rope.....I said to my self that man Knows his stuff....

To the OP, yes, change all the line, 3/32ID by 3/16OD is the line to use. Like Harley said get a new fuel filter and go through the carb, then you can keep on limbing for another who knows how many years.

Usually when these saws get to me the nipple is already gone...then I have to do some hunting..

Got the fuel line replaced this afternoon. Saw runs great again. I'm thinking the line was broken or had a hole in it for a few years.
