Wow, I don't know if I should feel outraged or proud...
The Stihl 090 that I restored and sold on eBay has surfaced on Craigslist within an hour of my house... complete with my ebay pictures AND description. I flagged it, and I encourage you to as well.

Y'all be on the lookout for this ad... This saw resides with its new owner in Great Britain now.

I flagged it for ya. Can't believe all the scammers out there. That's just ridiculous.

On another note, nice work on that saw! Someone in Great Britain is very happy, I'm sure!

It's probably someone with exactly the same saw that you have sold, and has no camera, so he uses your photos, that's all!

I like the "photo recyclers" about as much as I do the ****heads that do a dictionary dump
of "keywords" in their adds.
and Personally, I think the dictionary dumping clowns should get a blanket party.

Was gonna ask whether you manage somehow to get original paint matches and have these baked, but figured I'd look at your ad. Surprised to hear your replacement paint is of such better quality than Stihl replacement. Man, that's a beautiful job. And if I'd found that saw with that detailed description on EBay, dunno that I could resist. No wonder they're using it.

I used ford grey from tractor supply and its not holing up very well. Mayby I should have baked it.

When you've got something really nice listed does a guy need to do a photo shop / MS paint "text edit" onto the pics?

Some kind of "water mark" or insignia to make it less appealing for a photo thief??

That's not a bad idea. Of course, hind sight is 20/20 in this situation.
The Ford Grey paint looked amazing and was much easier to get a good coat compared to the Stihl paint. Stihl paint seemed so runny to me that I couldn't get any coverage at all without runs.

there was one add around the shell knob area for an 090 a while back for like $1800
it looked rougher than that :/ I wonder if it was that saw they are selling now?
sucks they ripped off the picture

I think that saw is still for sale.. I think it was like $2200... in Eagle Rock or something like that. It's been on CL for quite some time.

Why don't you post a CL ad and document that this is (was) your saw, where it is now located, and a link to your original Ebay wrtie-up. Then keep it bumped to the top. That should shut the perp down or at least save a potential buyer some grief.
