Sold Stihl Contra military model w/ crate

I have a military Contra that I would like to trade. The muffler has been repainted and the bonnet is aftermarket. The crate & kit is neither perfect nor complete, but still very nice. I bought it as a runner, but have honestly never tried to start it. For genuinely interested parties I will get any additional photos requested, but certainly of the piston through the exhaust, check compression, and make a video of it running. What you see in these photos is what I have and what is up for trade.

Regardless of a full trade or a partial trade in either direction, I'll throw out everything I can think of that I'd be interested in:

• Sand cast Contras or parts (specifically need an FM logo recoil spring cover)
• Early, embossed top, 090AV
• Factory 070 or 090 with electronic ignition
• 090G S1 or S2 stone saw
• 090G saw or parts
• Contra G or GS saw or parts (gearbox cover, standard or tube style muffler, etc.)
• Contra S saw or parts
• PM 390
• Solo Super Rex

Hard to put a value on it because Bund (military) Contra's are so rare. Here in Europe, I have seen 2 for sale (out of hundreds Contra's that I've seen for sale) but each was only the bare saw. No crate, no kit. Having said that, I think $1500 is a pretty good estimate for this one. If it was mine, I wouldn't sell it for a penny less than that.

I think that's a good call. There was a military Contra Lightning super a couple years ago on Ebay.de that was similar (full crate and kit) and it was near mint and it brought $1900.

I took more photos today as well as checking compression and verifying spark. I did not fuel and fire it because right now it's dry and properly prepared for storage. If a serious buyer would like me to fuel it and get a video of it running I can do that. However, in the recent past it has been disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled with new seals and gaskets. It has 140 psi compression, a clean p/c and strong spark.

Just a question a little off topic when the muffler is pulled does sealant or a gasket need to be applied again. I see what looks to be red sealant on mounting flange.

Nope. I don't mean this as criticism in any way, but this was the first time I'd ever seen anybody use sealant (color tells me it it's Dirko) on the exhaust gasket. Not necessarily a bad idea for a shelf saw that's been well cleaned, but will be run because it's fairly common for some leaking around those mating surfaces which do dirty up the surrounding area.

Mostly the parts about being a scholar with Crocs. And since we have an Aussie in the mix I should point out we mean footwear, not dangerous reptiles...
