It spewed saw dust and not chips from dull and half worn 1/4" chain. Local stihl shop gave me a good deal on 13RMC72 chain for $21 ea. Found it interesting that the clutch cover does not cover the muffler as most pix show of this saw. FWIW SN 4999920 Later found the chain to be tough to get on the bar...then saw the marking on the stihlomatic bar with a "75" meaning 75 links...I now have 2 new 13RM74dl stihl chains off ebay for 15.99 ea free shipping
