Front Yard Tree: Cut My Losses and Move on

Should I drill some holds and run some threaded rods with washers and nuts? If I do, do this do I need to put anything in-between the part that has been split for what appears to be a decent amount of time? Or has the tree come to the end of its safety net?
I'll let you know now that I have zero knowledge on trees, I'm purely a chainsaw guy, but I think that one has probably come pretty close to the end of it's life. It seems like it's got a lot of weight on either side and is a serious split waiting to happen, not really sure if bolting it together would buy you any time on this one.

Yikes!! Ask for pro help on that scary thing....or risk it Wind is not a friend to that tree. And looks of good size.
