All downward forces are transfered right into tilt vise bottom plate-the rail and the clamp block both sit on the same piece of 1/8" steel plate. This gives no room to wobble or give under the load or vibes from ginding. The cutout in the rail is very tight and precise, you can barely see the light between the rail and the steel baseplate
