    Echo CS355T first thoughts/review

Hate for Echo only exists in these forums. Guys hanging in trees don't care what color it is or what name is on the side as long as it starts and cuts. Echo saws do both well, however durability is lacking. Nobody threw anything around, saws just take a beating getting pulled around through...

    Echo CS355T first thoughts/review

IME they're good runners but won't hold up to everyday hard use. The few we had lasted about 6 months before the handle, chain brake, the piece under the handle, air filter cover, were cracked or broken beyond use. The small holes for gas and oil are a PITA. Goods saws for the price if its...

Stumbled on an Estate sale, which saws should I keep?

A top handle saw is only as dangerous as the person holding it. Like any other tool really. If one can't properly operate a top handle saw, they shouldn't use a rear handle saw either. The only reason everything says use 2 hands is because of lawsuits and scum lawyers. They are clearly...

I leave the climbing to a pro

Licensed, certified, i guess you can call it what you want. Never heard it call license here.

I leave the climbing to a pro

Never heard of an arborist being licensed. Certified, but not licensed. In 22 years in the industry i've never known anyone to lose any certs for spiking a prune job. Its frowned upon, but you aren't gonna lose any certs.

    Chainsaw file sizes?!

He's right. 3/8lp for smaller saws like top handles takes a 5/32" file but .404 uses 1/4" or 7/32 and standard 3/8" use 13/64"(stihl) or 7/32. 3/16" is for .325, 7/32 is too big.

Need a recommendation for a medium climbing saw

I used my JRed 2260. Same saw as the 562xp that is slightly smaller and has a small mount bar.
  17. KenJax Tree

Advice needed....new saw. Husky, Echo or Dolmar?

For the price of the 555 you can get a Jonsered 2260 (same as the 562xp but with small mount bars same as the 55). Or you can get a 2258 (same as the 555). Nate @fordf150 is great to deal with.....he sells Echo and Dolmar too. If you're gonna get the Echo, just get a 70cc saw they're the same...

2 stroke pre mixed fuel Advice (VP Racing)

VP hasn't used Motul in a couple years. They have their own oil now. Nothing wrong mixing in a little bit of Ultra. The saw doesn't know if you mixed it half and half, as long as the lubrication is there.
