Have a friend who has a 032 with a bad ignition. Our local Stihl dealers says they are no longer available...is this true? If it is any way to retro a different system??

Is this the 032AV (magneto ignition) or the 032AVE (transistor ignition)? You might try Ron's Saw Sales of Watertown, SD (800-433-6304). If this is the transistor version, I would try a procedure that works for me most of the time. I have described this procedure in another thread, but I forget where. I haven't done that many posts, so it should be easy to find. If you can't find it, I will describe it again if you wish.
