Yes the 064 piston is taller and has a longer skirt. You have to machine a pop up on the piston and shorten the skirt. The channel for the connecting rod is too narrow for a husqvarna and needs to be opened up.

Machining the cylinder can be a pain in the @@@. Its possible but it can lead to complications. I recommend machining the piston, much easier.

Big bore cylinders have a ring on the top of the cylinder wall where the nikasil plating is dented and rough possibly snagging a ring. It is a very small band and can be seen using a dental mirror. It is very evident when you cut the head off for a 2-piece.

Snagging a ring is what I meant by ring run out.
 
Thanks again, so it sounds like the top ring is a little lower on the sthil piston so that it doesn’t get up into that rough area of the cylinder.
 
My first ideas for this 365 was to have the engine builder put a 75cc p/c on it and mod it from there. The engine builder said that he was not going to build any cheater saws for the 4 cube class.
