I've been looking for a climbing saw since my Mac died. I had a 338XPT lined up but the guy sold it before I could sell my spare 346. I was trying to decide what I wanted and this little Dolmar got my attention. It's very light and, because it has a reed valve engine, it has good torque for its size. I like the design too.

I've never run a 200T and I'm glad. I don't want to ruin the fun I'll have with this little 3410TH.

Here it is now, a little dusty.:chainsaw:

It was supposed to have some mysterious air leak. I like a challenge!:)
Needless to say, it wasn't what I expected.
Supposedly, the seller didn't have time to mess with it....Bull ####!:censored:
He sure had time to mess it up!

After hours of cleaning Scotch Grip off the dam carb and air filter and after disassembling the whole saw and putting it back together, it runs perfect.

The carb was full of sawdust, the gas tank grommet was torn, the fuel line was kinked and SOMEONE over tightened one of the reed block screws and stripped it!

Oh well. $200 + shipping and a few hours and I've got a pretty nice saw with maybe ten tanks through it. It really runs and idles nice and revs pretty good for a reed saw. The reeds are carbon fiber.

Nice find for the price.

Think I'll keep a lookout for one of those.

I had been considering a 335, 338xp or an MS200 for limbing.

The MS200 is king to me although the 335 ain't bad either, just very light.

Now that is on the radar.

The guy emailed me and told me he had another one with the same problem listing soon. I had this saw stripped down to the chasis. I did everything but split the case. There was no problem with it that a carb ******** wouldn't have fixed.
It sucked having to clean all that crap off everything and re -tap that stripped screw hole....knowing that it would have been an easy fix if I'd got it first.:dizzy:
I'd like to know where he's getting them...and just who the hell thinks they can fix an air leak with spray contact adhesive!:buttkick:

Nope. Sold it. I think it's out getting sooped up about now.:chainsaw:

I hope you enjoy your 3410 as much as I have mine!!
I had a buddy of mine kick me in the seat of my jeans recently for not buying one a couple of years ago when I first got the idea!
It has become one of the saws I seldom go cutting without.

The 3410 and my mildly ported 401 are doing 70%+ of my firewood cutting now.
Add the 5100 with a 20" 3/8ths into the mix and I can make firewood out of the vast majority of timber in this area.

One of my 3410's ran great out of the box ...The other stumbled and ran poor till I pulled the carb and readjusted the metering lever ......Now two great running saws...

Metering lever? You mean the one for the diaphragm and the needle?
Dam I didn't think of that.
I did adjust that. It's automatic and I don't even think about it I just do it.
I thought it was a little low.
I never ran the saw before I tore it down. It looked a mess so I didn't bother.

What's that muffler mod you do with these saws?

I slot the exhaust hole about an extra 3/8 in.....Mine the metering lever was very low .....

Thanks man! I lurked a couple of your old threads before I pulled the trigger on this baby.
I was hoping you'd see this one and weigh in.

Yup, I put it in the Ebay/Craigs sticky.
Easy fix. Kinda pricy for a pig in a poke but I'm happy.

So with your previous sale with this seller would you buy this other saw if you needed it?

I don't know. That contact cement and the stripped screw hole....and a missing muffler bolt I forgot to mention pissed me off. I thought the saw was unbastardized.

Whatever. A guy's gotta make a little extra cash these days. I know that.
I guess I'd buy it. I'd wanna know if there was any ****** glue all over it though!

Thanks for the heads up I'll probably stay away from that one,I don't really like surprises.
