I want to buy a spare bar for my new 359 on ebay. My current bar lists serial numbers that include 3/8 72dl and I know the slot is .050. On the factory Husky bars these same dimensions are listed on HA-380-72 and HT-380-72 and even FT-280-72 for the 20" bar. I would like to know are these for different model saws and have different mounting holes or are they for different chains or are they the same with different noses. Is there a site I can find out the compatibility of factory bars for models and chains. It looks like I could get a factory bar for a lot less on ebay with a little patience but I dont want to get stuck with the wrong one. Any info that would point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

Solid bar (no sprocket on tip) 20" Bar, 3/8" Pitch, .050" Gauge (HA-380-72)
Farm Tuff laminated bar (FT-280-72), 3/8" Pitch, .050" Gauge
Solid bar with replaceable tip 20" Bar, 3/8" Pitch, .050" Gauge (HT-380-72)
Goto Husky then to accesories and lubricants then to chainsaw accesories scroll down to the bars.

Lostone, I thought the 380 series was the large husky mount??

I think he wants a 280 series for the 359.

trimmed, I got that info from there site. I couldn't find any info on mikes site about the mounts so I checked out Husky. I just got to checking there site some more trimmed, if the 280 and 380 indicate a mount size then Husky must have a lot of mounts they list a
150
380
388
250
258
280
383
343
I thought Husky only had a large and a small mount but going by those # I figured they where to do with the gauge and pitch combined not the mount size but I could be wrong. I will admit tho I need to learn a lot about the gauge and pitch on them, still trying to find a nice combo for my 028, but I think I am going to stay with .325/050 on it since I cannot find 3/8 LP in chisel.

Looking at other sites selling the bars trimmed I believe you are correct they list the bars for the larger cc saws at 380 and the 280 on the smaller saws. I bow to your wisdom :)

If you look on that site (granted could be clearer) ;) the 280 series only goes up to 24" in length, all the bars that are longer are 380 series

380 with the 0 being 50g

388 with the 8 being 58g

383 with the 3 being 63g

The 280 series works the same way, then you have some of the other #'s like the 150 that represent different type of bars as in intenz or double guard or whatever it might be. I didn't actually look up the 150, just using it as an example :) But that's the drift, as I understand it.

Ha! Even a broken clock................;)

Hey Ray had it right off and it is certainly clearer on southwests page than Husky's, lol

While I was there I noticed Southwests prices seem a little higher than in days gone by, maybe a little hurricane price adjustments? :(

Yep looked at it more, I'm not sure but it looks like if it starts with a 3 its large mount and if it starts with a 2 its small mount
2** small mount
3** large mount
*5* being .325
*8* being 3/8
*4* being .404
**0 being .050
**3 being .063
**8 being .058
or thats what I get from it, obviously I have been wrong before. ;)
LOL well that site shot that theory down, I'm 0 for 10 tonight.

I had read that link thanks, that is why I gave up trying for the 3/8 in a LP chisel.

I should have any size bar you need for the 359. If you decide what you want let me know. I have both Husky and Oregon bars.

I think Windsor sell a FC round 3/8LP .50. Check Windsor site for listings for your saw. Heres a listing from someone that sells it on the net.
NEW 16" Windsor brand pro chisel chain. The WINDSOR chain is our most popular chain. It gets the work done faster.

An aggressive chain.

16", .3/8LP pitch, 50 gauge, 56 drive links. Windsor drive link number is 50R, same as Oregon 91.

Shipping will be through USPS. (We should receive payment in (7) business days after auction has ended.)

Thanks for looking. D&K
