Hey gang,
Picked up a new project saw the other day. Was told it’s an 066 but looks to me like a 660? Also what’s everyone’s thoughts on decomp deletes and how do you go about it?
Cheers

Broken AV pin on the tankhandle upfront underneath. It can be fixed.
Stripped upper cylinder AV spring hole mount.
Now fixed
Side AV rubber hammered. See pics.
Runs, no serious damage to it so it can be fixed up. Pumps oil starts fine. Sale as is. It's complete minus the broken...
I smoked my cylinder on my 660 clone while milling by having the high adjustment too lean.
Now I am holding a new 36$ knock off cylinder in my hand and have just ordered a degree wheel to check timing.
By just measunring with the calipers I can tell that this cylinder is way off compared to the...

Hi all at AS.
I know there is a lot on this subject.
I am more wondering about heat.
Saw is non ported,muff modded.
Just a fire wood saw, nothing special.
Still worth removing .020?
Thanks in advance,
Chris.
I'm trying to make a cheat sheet or pocket card for the guys at work to use when tuning saws. I'm having trouble tracking down the suggested idle settings for a few models that we own. I know tuning to ear is a better practice, but I need a quantifiable range to use as a baseline for the ones...
As the title says. What are the your "must have" "Hi-Tech parts" ?
1.Is it the super light weight bars?
2.Is it the best powerful powerhead?
3. Is it the best chain?
What is the saws, parts, Hi-Tech goodies that you had to have and if not, you would lose sleep over it.
Also what do you like...
Hey guys and gals,
I'm looking for a bigger saw for falling larger trees, bucking, and milling. 80cc and up, or something 70cc+ that's modded
Stihl, Husky, or McColluch would be preferred. I'm happy with older saws, so long as they are in good condition!
My budget is $500, bar included would...
I am looking for the fix for a Stihl MS660 brake that engages too easily. The basic symptom is that it will occasionally engage during normal cutting. The brake handle has excessive play as well.
Short of replacing the entire assembly, which components are the normal failure points?
Thank you!
My 660 chain is running at idle when it will run. I've gotten new clutch springs and checked the clutch to make sure everything is working as it should. It is cleab and nothing is worn. The chain moves at normal idle speeds. I've adjusted the carb and it still won't run. When I start it the...
Dad's 046 magnum has the original air filter (and everything else) that has never been changed, but he does clean it. Lately he said it's been losing power as he cuts with it. Says it's fine when he starts and then bogs down progressively. He decided he wanted me to put a new carb and filters in...
I would like to buy the felling dog that matches Stihl 1122 664 0508 (opposite side). I think the part number is 1122 664 0503, but i'm not sure of that. I have the 0508 but i lost the other side. Thanks.
If somebody in the States ordered these kits in bulk, or has one they no longer want, I'd like to get my hands on one for a good price. If you have a different Huztl kit, I might still be interested.
Thanks!
Can't believe I'm posting this, but maybe some other ideas thrown at me will help with my problems lol.
I have an 066 that I bought blown up. Ordered the parts (aftermarket), and pressure tested the saw. Found that it had a pretty substantial air leak in the crankcase at the gasket surface near...
I need a new summer project... I am looking for a 660 crankcase... you know, the dirty grimey one you have sitting in a box that you never get around to cleaning up enough to rebuild. My wife is going away on vacation leaving me with the perfect opportunity to run another small engine through...
