I'm looking to purchase a used chainsaw & I have narrowed it down to the Echo CS 310 for $80 vs the Homelite Sabre 245 for $100. Both saws have similar wear & tear. I think the Homelite 245 is from the 1980's. It has an 18 bar & I think 39CC. Here more info...

Newbie here. Bought a new ECHO CS310. Starts easy, runs well, but once I start cutting, the chain stops/jams. Feels as if the saw does not have enough power. Yes, I tightened the chain and chain can be moved manually. Was trying to cut a 10" gree Aspen. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

My dad has a Echo CS-310. He currently is running a 14" bar on it and he asked me if he could run a 16" bar on it. However, since its only a 30.5cc engine could it run a 16" bar and chain effectively?
