    Say part of an oak tree is hollowed out significantly...

    The hollow is maybe 15 feet up, but I don't know how deep the damage is. It catches rain and squirrels. If this hole is plugged, can the tree repair itself?     How I check to see if a tree is hollow

    I do not know if this is correct heck it could be deadly for all I know. It is just the way I was shown. I know you can use a hammer and listen but I can not tell how hollow a tree is. This give me a real good idea. What are your thoughts. Do you know a better way to check?
