muffler modifications

Hello So this is my first saw and yes im green. I love adding more power just to do it and modifying anything. I really want to know if modifying the muffler is worth it or not. Thanks for any help and i getting saw crazy already.

I have been using 266xp exhaust deflectors (503589901) for muffler mods for some time but these are NLA down under. From searches seem to be getting difficult to find in US also. What are you guys using? I find that the 288xp deflector (503078301) can be a little bulky for small to mid sized...
