Hey guys, been thinking about this lately, what do y'all run in your equipment? I normally run Super Tech full synthetic, or if they're sold out/I forgot to buy some, I run Lucas semi synthetic. I'm wondering if I should switch to a mow name brand oil. Not sure if it matters, but my 2 stroke...
I was doing my first oil change on my new to me 90xp chipper . Grabbed some 15w 40 semi synthetic oil at walmart and apparently it was not stocked with the same oil so 3 quarts of 10w30 was put in before i realized the mistake and finished with almost 6 courts of 15w 40 all the oil was the same...
So I just bout this single owner 262xp. Super nice 91 model. So a couple of things.
1- it’s missing a muffler bracket bolt and is leaking bar oil out of it. Not sure it’s the threads are shot? If so can I just drill it out and tap it to a 6mm rather than 5mm. Or do I need a helecoil?
2-...
Hi, I'm sure a few of you have seen my dreaded MS211 project on here over the past few weeks. I've managed to get the saw running finally, if not a little lumpy. There's a definite issue with the choke which I'm fairly sure cannot be fixed at this point due to damage of the chainsaw's frame. My...
As a newb, I’m insanely confused with all of the “oil” options out there.
I have a Husky 440.
As for fuel, I’ve been using a store bought pre-mix (I’m ordering Husky brand pre-mix just to be safe).
I recently bought Husky brand bar and chain oil. HOWEVER, the small print on the back scared...
Hi all at AS.
Can a 36 pump be modded to pump more oil?
E.g. enlarge oil holes and file a bigger flat on piston.
Saw oils but seems stingey.
And yes every thing clean, bar groove and oil hole good no blockages.
Breather good.
Cheers Chris.
I picked up a Pioneer 600 today, very eager to use it but would like to know what mix of gas you guys use. Sorry if this has already been answered im new to chainsaws and 2 strokes engines in general.
I've got an idea to help the 7900 saws get a bit more oil on the chain, or at least make the adjuster screw last a little longer. Most have seen @jar944 oiler screw he turned out of 6160, but I realize that it is out of many people's resources. So, I plan to remove the end nub off of the plastic...
If you're looking for a handy all-in-one kit for taking care of your axe or maul, here's a video demonstration of the Helko Maintenance Kit. It has a dual sided axe file, axe sharpening stone, blade cleaning sanding sponge, axe guard oil, handle oil, sandpaper, and a cleaning rag. It comes in...
Hi everyone, first I'd like to say what a great site this is and thanks for having me.
I've recently purchased a new home on 100 acres, 50 of which are bush. The house is a two story farm house approximately 2500 Sq ft currently running a 20+ year old forced air oil setup. I also have a wood...
So my trusty 460 just developed the ol' weeping seepage the other day. I did all the standard things of checking the cap gasket, blowing out the vent hole etc. but it kept doing it...not a lot, but enough to make a mess.
Finally in desperation, I started taking things apart to see if there was a...
Is there a higher output oil pump for the 029, or a oil pump from another series saw that would work. I thought about calling Stihl and think experience with all the models from here might be more helpful. I have never been satisfied with the output, it seems to work fine as is, so I do not...
