pioneer p 41 army saw

Hello guys, The other day i picked up a very nice saw, a p41 army special atleast the air filter cover tells me. My question is does anybody out here know anything about pioneer army saws if it is real? Also i didnt know the p41 had a manual compression release or is that a "special feature"...
