Hello. I am new to the community and created my account specifically for this post. I live in Bakersfield, CA, and have two redwoods on my property that are damaging one of my walls and possibly our home's foundation. We have begun gathering quotes but I found during research there is a...
I have an interesting question regarding when you have a dead, diseased or compromised trunk from a multi trunk/co-dominant tree. I was trained as an arborist in Germany and it was common practice in this situation to leave a good sized stump (approx 1/3) of the removed trunk standing to prevent...
Hello everyone, thanks for having me here. I’m a landowner (not a professional) with a large dead cherry tree in my front yard. When we moved in two years ago it was covered from top to bottom in thick, dark green ivy. I removed the ivy at the base to kill it off, but I realized soon after that...

Hi everyone, I'm looking for some advice on a big Red Oak that needs to come down in my front yard. Below are some photos for reference. Circumference at chest height is 116", giving a diameter of about 37". My eyeballing for height is around 60-70 ft, and maybe 25ft to first intact lower limb...
I am removing a large Douglass Fir. its about 8ft away from the house. I have removed the branches and the top. I now have to deal with big wood. what is now left is a 40ft tall trunk 2 1/2ft diameter at the top, closer to 4ft at bottom. I used a DK slider to drop 16inch rounds into the...
