My 020t which I bought in 2000? i think, only has the low speed adjustment, does anyone know if this was only for 1 year.?
Is this a fixed jet like on the 260 super?

Yup, chainsaw carb adjustment is now a highly involved process instead of simply tweaking a screw. Based on your questions and limited mechanical understanding I'd have to say you should take it to the dealer for adjustment.

This isn't a jab at you, please do not be offended. I feel I am quite mechanically inclined (haven't paid for any auto repair in 15 years) but I gave up on my fixed jet carb after 8 months of effort and bought a used, adjustable carb for my 026.

Boy, do I feel like a fool! Sorry, Lync- I got you confused with one of the newer members who was asking about his 020T.

But with my limited experience working on 020T's, I'd recommend avoiding disassembly of the handle and throttle linkage if possible. Those damb things are about impossible to put back together (as I'm sure you know).

Not a problem yet

No offense taken brian! The saw runs good, I just wonder if it could run even better. I set up the low speed about 1 1/4 turns from seated, and it accellerates crisp off throttle, on the top end it does "4 cycle" blubber when its cutting wide open. I just wonder as the saw gets older will it be at optimum efficency. I don't think i'd bother to put on a different carb with an adjustable hi speed. How much emissons could this saw put out that the
epa and manufacturer had to make this carb non adjustable.?

Brian do you remember on the old GM carbs when you could drill out the plug covering the mixture screws, then you could adjust the carb. Too bad it's not like that.
