Okay, since I have the carb set right on the 066, i have developed a new question. I have an older 024 wood boss, and had/converting (next post) an 034 super.

All these saws I run the same mix in, and i tune all the carbs the same way. My 024 in particular smokes like a chimney..all the time, as did the 034. With the 066 tuned the same way, it barely puffs at idle, and it puffs a little when revved, but nothing much in the cut.

I dont want to paint the wrong picture here though, i dont really think the other 2 are smoking excessively, just good ol' two-cycle smoke.

The 024 has a pretty fresh cyl/piston, as does the 066.

Maybe that paper element filter is causing the other 2 to run rich. The 066 has the high perf large filter on it.

What does anybody think?

Matt

Did you rebuild your carbs on the 024 and 034/036? Are the inletting needle levers set too high? Did someone fill your mufflers full of Lucky Charms when you weren't looking?

I have 13 saws and have never seen one smoke ever.

Look at the air filter and the Low speed screw. Also port the mufflers, this will make the saw a little leaner and may clear up your smoking problem without adjustment
