I have a Stihl 025 that am changing the engine in. But the clutch will not come off.
I have tried all i know to try it just has me completely stumped.
Please help!

What have you tried so far?

1) Stuff a piece of rope down the sparkplug hole right before it reaches TDC to hold the piston.

2) Turn the clutch nut clockwise (left handed thread) until it comes off.

I am replacing the engine so i have the cylinder off. All i need is the clutch off.
I grabbed the rod that connects the piston to the crankshaft with a pair of visegrips which locks the crankshaft completely. I then attacked the clutch nut with an impact wrench. Severe maybe, but but it still did not work.

Ok...it is hard to remove the clutch after you remove the cylinder without potentially damaging the crank.

IMO your safest bet would be to put the cylinder back on and rebolt the engine assembly to the gas/oil tank assembly. Then stuff rope down the sparkplug hole like I noted above.

You may have already damaged your crank.

If all else fails take it to the dealer and they will probably pull it off for you for a small fee. Or maybe for free.

I will probably take it to dealer as soon as i can.

If your replacing the crank then just put the crank in a vise and let er rip with your impact. Either it will come off or the crank will bust.
