028 oil pump mod

okay i have read that it i file down a flat spot on the pump it will increase the oiling,now here my question what flat spot,there are 2,One larger one at the very end and the other just after the gear,

Not sure what you are referring to on the 028, BUT are you sure you need to modify the oiler? the 028 spews oil much more than any later saw... Never seen one that doesn't oil liberally if the pump and delivery is working correctly.

If the oiler is not using a tank to a tank on an 028, you may have worn parts. This saw is not an EPA model.
First place to look is the screen in the tank. Clean it. The you will need to pull the sprocket and clutch. Best bet, a worn pump housing. The pin hole in the housing gets worn, which lets the pin move, which causes the pump piston to lose full stroke.
