I have had 2 saws this week. Did Stihl recall these lines like their
consumer trimmers? The fuel lines were cracked badly above
the fuel area, between the tank and carb.

Nope

Ive replaced my share of them on the 029's
Ive also repladed them on alot of other models too.....

???
most the stihls use molded lines.

and no the tygon line isnt worth a ????.
gets hard in no time.

Why bother with a recall just bill em like I do. Keep track of your time and factor in the time on the web asking about the problem. Something so simple can turn into a nice profit. Go get em.

Time, it takes what 3-4 minutes to put the line in?
I figured up on some small stuff its not even worth our time to fill warranty out, send it, keep the part, send part.

I just throw them away..

I would replace them with urethane(sp?) hose thats available from Home Depot. I have used this hose on the oil and fuel lines of snowmobile motors for about 5 years with good results.
