029S service manual

Hey guys quick repost. Where can I buy/download the service manual for an 029S. Basically I would like an exploded view of the saw with part numbers. I figured this would save me time and fustration as the local dealer is an Ace Hardware guy and is really not familar with chainsaws.


Also can my 029S be a "farm Boss" ? Thats what it says on the saw.
and how does stihl come up with all these diffrerent designations?

I don't know about an 029s but I can try to send a manual and ipl in PDF for an 029 if you PM me an email address. They're probably basically the same.

The names are just marketing hoo-ha. The "Farm Boss" saws are more or less aimed at people who need something more powerful/durable than an entry-level saw, but don't want to pay the price of a true pro saw. in other words, a homeowner saw for people who live in the country.

I ordered a manual for my 041 farmboss and got it at no cost in a few days. The 029 is listed but I don't see the s.

I have searched up and down on the stihl website. It's very comprehensive and informative but I feel like it's one big sales ploy. Plenty of pictures of saws and competitions. They will even sell you a shirt and hat. But don't even think of getting anything from them unless it's through an authorized dealer. And trust me here on Long Island just because you're an authorized dealer doesn't mean you know saws. That s why I'm at A.S.

I found both the service manual and parts book for my 026 on Ebay.I'm thinking around $20 for both.
