Stihl PN's
Thanks, I need a couple of parts. New to A.S. so I'll explain it as best as I can. Chain /sprocket cover, white colored plastic bushings the chain guides through, air filter. Also lookin to buy a MS170 for the small stuff. Does it make sense to worry about modifying bar and chain for a faster cut. fairly competent with saws. Not sure if it makes sense though. thanks again.
Those white plastic things are called "bumper strips" Stihl PN 1121 648 6610
the air filter shows two different ones,as far as I KNOW EITHER one should work,, one is flocked, (I hate when that happens) the other is fleeced??? thats the media used to make the soft part, flow element of the filter,,,
The flocked one is 1127 120 1611,,,, fleeced, ends in 1610
I dont think modifying the bar and chain is prudent, the best thing to do is get a good bar keep it maintained and keep your chain sharp...
Go to the Stihl website and look for the bar and chain section print out the material on selecting and buying saw chain or go to the Oregon website and do the same,,,, if you wear a chain that is bad enough to take it off to have it sharpened and you put on a new one,,,, change your sprocket too, better yet if you are going to be doing lots of cutting,,, you may want to convert your saw to a rim sprocket style clutch cover and then you just have to change out the rim sprocket, in the long run,,, it is much cheaper... do a search on here on chain selection types etc.... lots of stuff to read
Hope that helps, Good luck, and welcome to AS
