I changed out my plug wire today and can't get the wire to go back in the ignition coil. I don't know why I decided to change it...everything worked fine, but it seemed like the thing to do at the time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have proven to myself yet again that I am great at taking things apart, but not so great at getting things put back together.

Look down into the coil. Is there a stud with screw threads? If there is you can probably thread that wire into the coil as you twist it into the hole (clockwise). If it broke out flush with the top edge it may not be so easy but there are still ways to do it. Mike

I've tried that....the wire keeps bending too much and I can't get it to screw in. Maybe I need to take the carb off.....seems like that would make things easier.

If I need to take the carb off....what's the absolute idiot proof way to get it off and back on?

It sounds like the coil is still on the saw, I usually remove it.

Take an awl or a small screw and make a hole in the end of the wire, a starter hole. It will start on then. Make sure the hole in the coil is clean and part of the old wire is still not in there.
