031 oil pump removal

How do you remove the oil pump from an 031av?
Im having problems figuring out how to remove the plastic gear from the pump to get to the bolt holding the pump on. if you turn the gear opposite its normal direction the shaft turns out maybe a 1/4 inche but you still cant pull it out. thanks for help.

I'm pretty sure it just screws off . Took one apart a couple week ago and I remember having to get the gear out of the way to get to the bolt. The gear has a screw thread that turns a splined shalf .

I can feal the gear and shaft unscrew about 1/4 inches when I turn it the opposite direction that it normally spins. So do I just pull on it then?

when you rotate it and it starts to unscrew, lift up on it and it should come right off.
