038 Identification

I have a stihl 038, how do I know if it is a Magnum, super, or any other series that was offered.

To me, the easiest way to tell, is to remove the muffler and measure across the bore of the cylinder. 48mm = 038 AV, 50mm = 038 Super, 52mm = 038 Magnum.
