So I have an old 042 I had my eye on it since I could walk it was my dads and it always just say never used it well I got older and I finally talked him out of it and I ran it for years and well I let it get hot way hot I was milling and wasn’t paying attention and let all the tailings get sucked up against the pull start cover and it couldn’t breathe any air I was able to pull it apart and get the rings unstuck and the cylinder I touched up with emery cloth and it ran again for a year or so but now she’s so low on compression and anyone that knows anything about the 042 or 048 knows that finding parts for em is next to impossible so my question is could I home the cylinder and put a new piston in it ?
