044 with a 30" or over bar with what style chain?

The reports I get back is that a 044 is fine with 24 inch bar, but not quite enough power above that. I can't think of anyone around here using over 24 on 044 / 046s.

When they get above 24 they are using 066s, the larger huskys, or 2083 -- 2095 Jonsereds.
 
I run my 044's and 372's with 24-32 inch bars. In west coast softwoods, they pull the 32 just fine, even in stock form, of which few of mine are. However, hard wood slows em down, and regardless, I prefer shorter bars. All depends on the wood being cut, and we have lots of big stuff.

24-28= .375, .50 gauge, semi skip, 28 inches and up, full skip. 16-24 inch=full comp, which I am finally starting to run, but must admit it is smoother and faster. (Smaller saws)
