051 No Spark Fix

Hi All,
Just acquired a new chainsaw.... an old 051 (from what I have read anyway) as it has the compression release screw above the spark plug.
I am interested in a couple of photos of the Nova/Atom fix and information about the diagnosis?
Have read a few things on here but a lot of the photos are missing.

Are there any 051/076 experts left?
Currently I am trying to identify whether the saw is breakerless or not. Is there an easy way? It looks to me like the manual has two wires out of the breakerless system and one out of the breakered system?
Which would make mine a breakerless saw.
Is there an easy way to pull the flywheel without the special tool?
Will post some photos later on.

Probably electronic/breakerless/not points. If there's no wire going under the flywheel, you're breakerless.

You have verified with a tester that there's no spark?

Hi JC,
Test said there is intermittent spark.
Loose wire?
Have been running over the saw with the meter? may resolder a couple of the connections although I would think that this is a rather longshot?

Ok so i got it to kick over with a little fuel in the top of the carby but can't get it to go again this morning?
Pulling the plug again shows the same intermittent spark as before.
Is this a case for the Nova II?

On the 056 (not sure if it applies), you need the flywheel from a points-style ignition for the nova to work. Also, some have said that the timing isn't quite the same.

I've never played with one, just passing along what I've read.

Nah not 056, 051. only slightly different though.
So what do people do with the breakerless model?
