hey all, i am in the process of rebuilding an 064 for a friend. got a replacement crankcase on ebay and got most of the saw together.. now im down to an issue i have not dealt with before! the coil does not fit like the old case! normally i see the 064 case has 2 lower mounting pads that are drilled/tapped. this one only has one lower pad drilled and tapped and does not match up to the 064 coil (044 coil gets same result) just what coil does this thing take?

choices

Stihl just could not figure out what ignition to put in 64s and 66s, with the 64 being the worst. The is a bulletin that has been put on here before that will help you sort this combination of module and flywheel out.

i seem to need the coil PN 1122 400 1300. anybody have one that wants to trade for the coil pictured with the saw? the one i need is the one that the leg wraps around 3 sides of the coil. the coil i have is a 1122 400 1303 from a dual key flywheel.

Ae you sure the std 000 400 1300 coil (026,029, 036 etc) won't fit?? I've replaced many of the older (now obsolete and many not available) coils with the -1300 coil. They just use two of the three possible mounting holes. if you have one that is not drilled out, can you just drill and tap it? The top hole is in the correct postion.

Just have to move the -1203 flywheel to the most retarded position or it will rip your hand off when it starts!
