So I went into the garage to check on 'er and I noticed that after I cleaned 'er up from the last use, all of a sudden she's leakin' bar oil onto the rubber mat she calls home!!

What is the part that I need? Looks like it's coming from down by the chain catch but at quick glance, I can't tell for sure. Never had a problem with this before, maybe I cleaned 'er too good this time and loosened up some gunk that was preventing the leak all along.

Any help/advice would be appreciated. I would normally look into this matter myself, but I barely have time to type this..:) Otherwise, first thing Monday I'm tearin' into 'er... Thanks.

Might need a little more information before you'd know exactly what was leaking the bar oil. Pull the pump, check the seal going into the oil tank as well as the o-ring on the output, not to mention the pump itself.

A lot of oil, or a small puddle? Almost all saws leak a little oil in this area - just residual oil in the bar, oiling passages draining out due to gravity. Now, if you have a huge puddle - like a whole tanks worth, there are far bigger problems! I'm sure one of the Stihl guys will pipe up and explain the nature of the beast.

No it's not like the whole oil tank has drained, but a good amount has drained over the last week. :bang: Hopefully it's a simple fix.

I still have not had a chance to see what the cause of this bar oil leak is.. Damn. I'll update when I can find at least 5 min in my day...:dizzy:
