after putting my 066 back together, i am having trouble getting the oiler adjusted. when i open it up, it dumps oil out the bottom (and everywhere). it seems to be a fine line between starving the chain and spewing oil. are they usually this finicky or do the oiler seals need replaced? also i am running a gb protop bar, i assume that the holes aredn't too restrictive.

thanks
shawn

My 66 seems scabby on the oil. Has never really oiled enough even turned up flat out.

When a tank of juice runs out the oil is about half full, or half empty if you are a pessimist.

What I do to check things out is run the saw with the bar and cover off so I can see how much flow is coming out of that little hole. It could also be blocked in there so check it out. Try that and see where it's going, just dont over rev the saw.

There's a good chance you have lost the special rubber washer at the top of the pump where it connects to the crankcase to feed the oil passage to the bar.

Stihl refers to this as a B4x2
