Hey Guys,
I have an 066 that runs from a cold start for about 5-10 minutes then dies and will not start agains until it cools off. It has great compression when hot but just will not fire.... Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Greorge

Weak coil, bad spark plug wire, bad ground.

Check the spark when it dies. It will probably be Orange instead of blue

yep, sounds like a bad coil to me....problem is getting warranty on them....when I worked at the Husky dist. we ran into this several times...(25+) the ignition would be fine when cold, but dead when warm...our tests would show them fine...as they were cold...

Thanks Dennis!!!
I checked the gap on the coil and it was much greater than .012. I cleaned the connections and re-gapped it at .012 and it ran great for a 1/2 tank of gas. I will let you know how it works on the weekend, I have eight 40-60 inch across and 20 foot long oak stems I need to cut for splitting. That should be a good test.

Thanks Again.
