084 Muffler Mod

Been playing with my muffler lately (the one on the saw) . The double barrel mod thread bit me. I wish I had progress pictures of it but I knocked my camera off the work bench.:bang: :censored: :bang:

When I do the math, the open area of 2 pieces of 1/2" EMT (actually 5/8" ID) is 85% of the exhaust port area. If it turns out I need more I'll add a port with deflector to the cap. I decided aganist he shotgun style ports beacuse I use this saw primarily for milling. This configuration should have less potential of igniting the bark and direct the exhaust away from me.

This was the first time I brazed anything so be nice.

I'm anxious to hear it bark but I'm waiting on a few other parts.

update

Got it running the other day. It seems to have made an improvement. Definitely sounds cool.

I painted it silver beacuse the local borg doesn't carry black high temp paint. They have almond, white and hunter green though. Go figure:monkey:
